Lyme disease cases have been reported from every county in Vermont, although most cases occur in the southern and western regions of the state. Stacy Wein, of the Copley Health Sciences Library, has put together a comprehensive display with hand outs and resources for more information. Stop by the Lanpher Library to learn from this display and to get more information about lyme disease. Check out the Copley Health Sciences Library for any medical information. Thank you for bearing with this week while our Church St. entrance has been unavailable due to the beginning of our Handicapped Accessible Project! Story Time on Wednesday was easily planned. I just created a space where the children could look out the window from the Children's Room...and the construction vehicles digging the sidewalk took care of the rest. We are closed on Thursdays, so I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I arrived and the work was just about completed! Step 1 is done! Coming Soon: A new door with automatic opener! A new back door! A ribbon cutting ceremony when it is all done! A few years ago, it was brought to our attention that our Library was accessible....sort of. Well, as the photos below will indicate, it's true. We have several barriers to getting through our doors. Not for much longer! Thanks to a Building Community Grant from the VT. Department of Buildings and General Services and the Taxpayers of Hyde Park, we're widening our welcome mat to all members of our Community! Starting Monday, July 18th, construction begins!! We're getting a new door with an automatic opener, a cement walkway and a parking space that will have no curb and will be designated ADA Accessible! Our Church Street Entrance will not be able to be used for a while, so please use the front door on Main St. If you are unable to use stairs, we'll have the back door available for those patrons who need it! ![]() Tuesday, July 12t, 6:30 p.m. Jing Liu, Author/Creator of Foundations of Chinese Civilization Graphic Novel Series, will be at the Lanpher Library to talk about his books, and introduce us to a new way to explore and understand the vast history of China!
