Saturday, February 16th 5:30 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Hyde Park a partnership with the Lanpher Library and the Church. Stone Soup is an old folktale in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys.
The Second Congregational Church and the Lanpher Memorial Library invite you to donate a vegetarian soup ingredient (vegetables of all kinds: potato, squash, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, etc..., herbs, grains...) and we will work with a chef to make it into soups to be shared with all who can join us. We'll enjoy the soup with anyone who is able to come. ALL ARE WELCOME TO THE MEAL! There will be no charge. There will be great soup, community, and a game with prizes! If you choose to donate a food item, please bring your contribution to the Lanpher Library any time between Monday Feb. 11-Friday Feb. 15th. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH 5:30 PM. at the Second Congregational Church, 102 Prospect Street, Hyde Park. On Saturday, January 26th at 3:00 at the Second Congregational Church, the Lanpher Library will dedicate our 2018 Community Awards followed by a Concert by Vermont legend, Rick Norcross.
The 2018 Marrion Hood Lanpher Memorial Library Legacy Award will be dedicated in memory of Gordon Tallman. The Lanpher Memorial Library Spirit of Community Award will be given in honor of Julie and John Rohleder. We are excited to celebrate with the music and entertainment of Rick Norcross! The concert if FREE and open to the general public. Please join us. ![]() The Lanpher Memorial Library will open at 10:00 today, for our regularly scheduled hours, however, because Hyde Park schools are closed due to inclement weather, there will be NO STORY TIME today. Rachel will come back next week for Music and Movement! Please call us 802-888-4628 if you want to renew items, or to check in. Occasionally we close early on bad-weather-days. SATURDAY, JANUARY 26TH, 3PM AT THE SECOND CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH IN HYDE PARK. The 2018 Annual Library Awards will be dedicated at the beginning of the show on Saturday, January 26th at 3 pm.
![]() The Lanpher Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, December 24th and Tuesday December 25th and also on Monday December 31st (and Tuesday January 1st) as per our policy. Although we will be open on Wednesday, December 26th, there will be no formal Story Time that day. Story Time friends are welcome to come in and visit and play anyway! ![]() We do not follow the local school closings when there is inclement weather and plan to be open for our regular hours for the day. However, we do occasionally decide to close, or close early when the weather is bad and driving is unsafe. Please feel welcome to call us first if you are planning to visit the Library in inclement weather. 802-888-4628 If there is a children's program planned for a day when local schools are cancelled, the children's program will also be cancelled. Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District will present: DEMYSTIFYING WASTE WORKSHOP! Come and find out: What do I do with this? Why does recycling cost money$$? Where does it all go? ....and more! Additionally, a voucher will be given to each household to drop off one 15-gal recycling bin for FREE at any of the LRSWMD drop off locations! All those who attend will also automatically be entered into a raffle to win prizes at the end of the workshop. The results from our Scented Book Mark votes are in! The big winner was Lavender, with 41 votes. In second place, Gummy Worms with 30 votes! We have a tie for third: Chocolate Chip and Root Beer each got 10 votes. Originally we said we'd order the top 3 vote getters, but in a tie, we can't resist getting both! Coming soon.... We heard from some of you, that you would have loved to come to our program with VT Holocaust Memorial speakers, but for one reason or another, weren't able to make it.
Thankfully, our friends at Green Mountain Public Access were able to come to the program and film it. Please enjoy this informative, inspirational and moving program. If you would like to decorate a leaf for the VTHM Leaf Project, please stop by the Library where we have materials and information ready for you. We're collecting them too, so if you decorate a leaf at home, please feel welcome to drop it off here and we'll deliver them to VTHM.
